Course Outline

The main focus for students at this level is to acquire a foundation of basic vocabulary and sentence structures that they can use to communicate with in different situations. Learners entering the Certificate I course have had minimal exposure to English; therefore, a lot of the focus for this course is on vocabulary that they can use in daily contexts, both in spoken and written English.

*Please note all WAIFS courses are offered via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

** This course will be delivered and assessed via classroom delivery, distance learning and online assessment.

  • Entry Requirements

    Successful completion of Year 9 (or equivalent).

    IELTS score 2.0-2.5 (or equivalent).

  • Pathways Articulation

    Having successfully completed a Certificate I in Spoken and Written English, you should be approximately at a 3.5 IELTS equivalent level and be able to take part in short transactional exchanges in familiar contexts, understand short spoken information texts about a familiar topic, follow short spoken or written instructions, talk about experiences and events, and compose short pieces of writing.

    After achieving 10362NAT Certificate I in Spoken and Written English, you may undertake 10363NAT Certificate II in Spoken and Written English.

  • Domestic Fees

    Tuition Fee: $1,830.00

    Materials Fee: $150.00

    A one off $230.00 Enrolment Fee is applicable to process the Application.
