The Certificate III in Individual Support is regarded as the entry-level qualification for people who wish to work in the aged care sector, in facilities such as aged care homes and hostels. The course provides the basic practical knowledge and understanding for work in this field. You will study a variety of units with an emphasis on the support, communication and delivery of care services. On completion of this course, you will be eligible to enter further studies in this area or apply to related employment.

An optional CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) dual qualification is available.
*Please note all WAIFS courses are also offered via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
** This course will be delivered and assessed via classroom delivery, distance learning and online assessment.
Successful completion of year 10 (or equivalent).
IELTS score of 4.5 (or equivalent).
As a student in this course, you would undertake 240 hours in a work placement, working alongside qualified professionals and supervised by WAIFS trainers and designated supervisors at the host employer. This practical component is linked to a number of units of competency in the Certificate III.
For students looking to have further skills and job opportunities, an optional dual qualification is available for CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability). Students will need to complete additional units and a work-placement component. This is undertaken within the 52 week duration of the course.
The fee for this is $1,150 AUD. Upon successful completion, students would receive two certificates.
Successful completion of this qualification provides you with a pathway into other Certificate III and Certificate IV level qualifications in the Community Services and Health Training Packages. You may be able to receive exemptions from some subjects based on this qualification.
