This qualification is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of working in a supervisory role within the aged care sector, in facilities such as aged care homes and hostels.
Successful completion of this course can lead to employment in occupations such as:
- Hostel Supervisor
- Support Worker
- Personal Care Worker
- Day Activity Worker
- Care Supervisor
- Care Team Leader
- Program Coordinator – Social programs

**All WAIFS courses are offered via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Successful completion of Year 11 (or equivalent).
IELTS score of 5.0 (or equivalent).
All students of Certificate IV in Aged Care undertake 240 hours in a work placement, linked to a number of units of competency in the certificate. You would undertake the practical components of their course in the health sector and work alongside qualified professionals, supervised by WAIFS’ trainers and designated supervisors at the host employer.
Successful completion of this qualification gives you a pathway into other Certificate IV and Diploma level qualifications in the Community Services and Health Training Packages. You may be able to receive exemptions from some subjects based on this qualification.
