Course Outline
Hospitality is one of the fastest growing industries around the world, bringing in a significant amount of economic growth each year. If you are wanting to stand out when applying for employment opportunities within hospitality, our Diploma of Hospitality Management could help you do just that. It will provide you with a sound understanding of the managerial side of the business, as well as being able to provide high-quality customer service and develop strong business relationships with stakeholders.
This qualification is suitable for students interested in furthering their hospitality career.

This course will be delivered and assessed via classroom delivery, simulated environments, work-based training, portfolios, presentations, knowledge questions, and written assessments.

Australian Immigration Requirements for International Students:

Compulsory work-based training (WBT) forms part of this course. Students of this course should be physically able to undertake the requirements of WBT. Please refer to the unit details for specific requirements. As a minimum a student should be able to stand, move around and lift objects which may be heavy following work, health and safety practices.
Further, students should note that their work-placement will take place in a kitchen environment which may be very warm and where a variety of foods will be cooked, served and presented. Students should consider any allergies or religious requirements before taking this course. Full details can be found by referring to the units of competency.

Total Number of Units: 28 (11 core units + 17 elective units)
Students who completed WAIFS SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management will be granted Credit Transfers for 24 units. If you are not eligible for Credit Transfers for these units, you will need to complete the additional units to receive the qualification.

Work-based Placement
Students who have already completed work-placement in another qualification may be exempt. Otherwise, students are required to undertake at least 240 hours of work-based placement to cover a minimum of 50 complete food service periods linked with a number of units of competency in their course.
Students should note that Work-Based training is compulsory for all students of this course. A full certificate for this course cannot be obtained without successful completion of work-based training, along with all other required assessments.

Pathways/Articulation
After achieving a Diploma of Hospitality Management, you may undertake our Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management, or a range of other Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree qualifications. You may also be able to receive exemptions from some subjects based on this qualification.

International Fees
Tuition Fee: $3,050.00
Materials Fee: $250.00
Uniform Fee: $250.00 (Not Applicable for Students who completed SIT40516 Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery at WAIFS).
A one off $250.00 Enrolment Fee is applicable to process the Application (not applicable for continuing WAIFS students).
*Course fees may change. This is usually annually on 1 July and typically no more than 4%.
