About WAIFS
West Australian Institute of Further Studies, “WAIFS”, is one of the top Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s) in Perth, Western Australia. As such, it must comply with national standards which ensure the consistent delivery of high quality training.
WAIFS’ owners have years of experience in professional and corporate accounting, business, management, marketing and education, both internationally and in Australia.
This experience in global business has translated into a philosophy of education upon which WAIFS is based.
Students benefit most from courses where, upon completion, they are prepared for the requirements of their initial position and equipped with the vision to move forward to the next level of their careers and beyond;
Businesses want employees who ‘know how to get things done’;
Businesses want employees who challenge the norm, think outside the box and are open minded! What this means is that businesses highly rate employees who can change things for the better.
WAIFS includes relevant work-based training in a number of our courses so that students learn while doing.
WAIFS’ requests feedback from all stakeholders in work-based training placements (host employers and students) and through the continuous improvement methodology, which is embedded in the VET sector. The feedback received is used to improve outcomes for all.
WAIFS understands the importance of making sure that our courses and trainers stay up-to-date with modern business practices, knowledge and philosophy. All trainers undertake professional development throughout the year to assist in this aim.
WAIFS seeks to create a learning environment which is inclusive and challenging to all.
WAIFS provides high quality training in:

Why Study at WAIFS?
There are many good reasons as to why you should choose WAIFS.
Firstly, WAIFS places great emphasis on quality, outcomes and support, to a degree that makes it stand out from other training organisations in Western Australia. Our emphasis on quality means that you will acquire real-life skills and knowledge, which in turn means you will take away a qualification that shows employers you have something substantial to offer them. Your support will come from experienced trainers and a range of other staff members who are dedicated to ensuring you get the best out of your experience with us.
WAIFS works in partnership with a wide range of organisations including Study Perth, Council for International students of Western Australia, Velg and Compass Group Australia.
State-of-the-art campus: WAIFS has established a purpose built campus in the heart of Perth city. With excellent facilities, the opportunity to borrow a laptop to use in class, fully-equipped classrooms – all with wireless internet access – and large, comfortable relaxation areas, WAIFS provides a welcoming environment to all students. Also the central location means there are many public transport routes leading to the campus.
Multiple intakes each year: WAIFS offers four intakes a year (January, April, July and October) for most of its programs. Selected courses have monthly or even weekly intakes. This gives you the flexibility to enrol when it suits you most.
Small class sizes: At WAIFS, the average class size is generally 20 to 25 students, so our trainers are able to devote more time to individual student needs than would be the case in larger class structures. We really want you to succeed and our ratios of staff to students mean we are able to offer you support when needed.
As WAIFS is a friendly campus, you will not be a faceless number, but a member of our educational family. It will be easy for you to mix with students doing other courses and to get to know staff personally. Students have found that this sort of interaction has helped them get a better indication of what they would like to study next after completing their current course.
University Pathway Programs: Just like achieving English levels may make you eligible to enrol in university and other courses, our Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses give you the opportunity to pursue further studies at various universities across Australia. WAIFS has an articulation pathway with Murdoch University and Griffith University, meaning that your transition to those campuses can be made smoothly. Furthermore WAIFS has partnered with the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) – one of the top professional accounting bodies.
Course Accreditation: All our courses are accredited by vocational education government agencies, to ensure that courses meet quality assurance standards. It also means that your qualification is recognized across Australia if you later wish to live, work or study in another state (overseas students may have to consider visa requirements).
